Another Music is a series of stories about the amazing community work supported by Fourteen and Forever Manchester and happening right now in Harpurhey and Moston, north Manchester.

Fourteen is a £3.5m national programme funded by Spirit of 2012, a charity set up by the Big Lottery Fund. It’s called Fourteen because that’s how many communities across the UK are benefiting.

It’s all about supporting social action and volunteering; grass roots sport and physical activity; local culture and the arts; and youth leadership and personal development.

Forever Manchester – a charity which funds and supports community activity across Greater Manchester – is the local partner responsible for managing the money.

The blog title is taken from The Buzzcocks album Another Music in a Different Kitchen and reflects stories of passion and positivity coming from an area often blighted by negative headlines and misleading stereotypes.
