Another Music is a community blog full of positive stories about Harpurhey and Moston.
It takes its name from The Buzzcocks album Another Music in a Different Kitchen and reflects stories of passion and resilience coming from an area often blighted by negative headlines and misleading stereotypes.
The blog started at the beginning of 2017 as part of Fourteen, a £3.5m national programme funded by Spirit of 2012, a charity set up by the Big Lottery Fund. It was called Fourteen because that’s how many communities across the UK benefitted.
In Harpurhey and Moston the Fourteen programme was coordinated by the charity Forever Manchester who worked with lots of local groups and individuals to make a difference. Read their review here.
Since the beginning of 2018 Another Music has been passed onto the local community to take forward. It will continue to highlight the great spirit of north Manchester.
